Working with your K-9 team

Officer Michelle Liddicoet of the San Francisco Police Department reminds officers that dogs don’t know uniforms. Liddicoet, a 16-year veteran with four years working the K-9 unit, says that when your K-9 team comes on scene, it’s a good idea to get out of the area and let the dog do the job it is trained to do. “These dogs have bigger and better tools than we do with their sense of smell, and they’re able to locate bad guys better than we are—let them do their job.”
