Company Name: TimberSpy by NatureBlinds
Headquarters: Kerrville, Texas
Signature Product: Stealth Surveillance Enclosure
Website: www.timberspy.com

TimberSpy by NatureBlinds' roots are in creating Hollywood-quality "synthetic nature" products for amusement parks. Their success led to the idea to develop secure and stealth surveillance for police departments. TimberSpy by NatureBlinds is no Mickey Mouse organization!

Where did your company name originate from?
The company has two components, NatureBlinds and TimberSpy, and they are exactly what you'd think. NatureBlinds is a hunting and observation "blind" that provides concealment from anybody looking in your direction. The TimberSpy line of products is specific to surveillance and gives you a sense of how you look when concealed.

What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
The inspiration came from the classic "build a better mousetrap" notion as well as personal experience. We were looking for a way to not only be concealed, but to be comfortable when stationed for a long duration. We wanted a product that could blend in harmony with its surroundings. Our goal isn't to stand out, it’s to go unnoticed.

Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?
Our products open up a host of possibilities for officers to perform surveillance and collect evidence. Our three core products were created with law enforcement and their budgets in mind. Having the ability to climb into a "remote outpost" either in the wilderness or even in a city park provides departments with the ability to station equipment or personnel in a safe and secure environment. We also see these products as essential to drug enforcement, ranging from grow farms to street transactions. What's more, having a cache of equipment safely locked and hidden creates leverage in enforcement.

What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
With any successful product, there are going to be cheap imitations and those looking to make a quick buck by getting in and out of a particular industry. This is our biggest challenge – letting people know we’re the real deal.

What do your customers like best about you and your products?
Our customers like the realism of the products’ exterior and the comfort of the interior. We're happy that it’s a combination of the two that so many people are drawn to.

What is the most rewarding part of serving the police community?
The most rewarding part about creating our products is knowing that our products are contributing directly to keeping drugs off the streets.

What’s next for your company? Any upcoming projects or initiatives?
When you build a realistic tree surveillance enclosure, people want to do all kinds of things with them. As such, there has talk about Porta-potties for golf courses.
