Safe police driving

I frequently see local law enforcement officers driving with one hand draped over the top of the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock position. It concerns me that they clearly think they're in control of their vehicle, but in truth, they're aren't. In addition to being a risk to your own safety and others, as a police officer you must also remember, YOU are setting an example to the general public. Driving in a poor manner — one-handed, elbow on the window or whatever — is not a good example. Read PoliceOne Columnist Travis Yates' safe police driving column and heed his advice.
