HODGENVILLE, Ky. — A Marion County man who escaped from a detention center early Sunday morning allegedly committed a series of offenses before being recaptured by police following a high-speed chase.
Police said Edmonds then made his way to a gas station, where he allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted a store employee at knifepoint before stealing a van.
Police tried to intercept Edmonds in Campbellsville, but he rammed a police cruiser before making his way into Larue County, where he was eventually stopped after police used metal spikes to deflate the van’s tires. He was taken into custody without incident.
Edmonds was taken to the Marion County jail following his arrest. He faces several charges from the escape, including fleeing and evading police and reckless driving.
Officer Greg Young with the Lebanon Police Department said it has not filed additional charges against Edmonds from the suspected robbery and assault pending the outcome of an investigation.
