MOBILE, Ala. — A high-speed chase from Mobile to the Florida state line Tuesday injured two law enforcement officers.

The chase began when a suspect allegedly stole a vehicle from the Dean McCrary Kia dealership in West Mobile, according to the Mobile Police Department. The multi-agency chase led officers toward the Florida State Line on the I-10 where a crash took place.

An Alabama State Trooper was in pursuit of the stolen vehicle when it crashed into a semi on the Florida side of the border, near to a rest stop. The suspect then fled the scene and was captured soon after. The unnamed suspect was unhurt.

During the incident, a Florida State Trooper vehicle was also hit, resulting in two officers sustaining injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. One of the officers had to be extricated from the vehicle.
