PASADENA, Calif. — Dramatic footage of a high-speed pursuit back in May shows the moments surrounding a violent crash, including when the suspect fired at officers through his windshield.
Police released the dashcam and body-worn camera videos last week “in an effort to be transparent and provide details of the incident,” Pasadena police said in a tweet.
PPD released footage from several cameras that documented the pursuit, shooting and crash. At one point in the footage, the suspect smashes into a cruiser head-on and fires straight through his windshield at an officer.
The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Llyod Nelson Jr., died at the scene reported KABC.
One Pasadena officer was shot in the leg by another officer during the pursuit and is expected to make a full recovery, according to the report.
