Video: IHOP scuffle with Atlanta cops hits YouTube
Shortly after a woman makes contact with the officer, he throws a punch and then attempts to detain her as she resists

BUCKHEAD, Ga. – Cops in Atlanta are investigating a struggle between officers and a group of women at an IHOP over the weekend.
The confrontation was caught on cell-phone video and posted to YouTube.
In the video, the woman can be seen placing her hand on the officer and yelling that she hadn’t done anything. Shortly after she makes contact with him, the officer throws a punch and then attempts to detain her.
The Atlanta Police Department released the following statement:
“The Atlanta Police Department is aware of the incident that took place early Saturday morning involving one of its officers attempting to arrest a patron at an IHOP in Buckhead. The matter has been referred to our Office of Professional Standards to determine whether department policies and procedures were followed. Further comment at this time would not be appropriate.”
An investigation is ongoing, but we know that one officer has been put on leave. We don't currently know details about what led up to the moments caught on video. Obviously those details are important, so we'll keep you updated.
